The state filing fee is $205, and one-business-day expedited filing is available for an additional $50 through Bizee.

New York requires newly formed LLCs to comply with a mandatory publication requirement, which makes it one of the more complex states for LLC formation. Within 120 days of formation, an LLC must publish notices in two newspapers for six consecutive weeks, as designated by the county clerk where the LLC is located.

After completing publication, the LLC must file a Certificate of Publication with the New York Department of State and pay a $50 filing fee to maintain full legal standing in New York.

New York LLCs are also required to file a Biennial Statement with the Department of State and comply with applicable state and local tax obligations based on the LLC’s activities.

Bizee’s compliance dashboard and lifetime alerts (included in the Standard and Premium packages) help you stay on top of these requirements, and for an additional fee, Bizee can complete certain filings on your behalf.
